Christmas Day!

Our Tree and Stockings as it looked when we went to bed last night.
We had a wonderful Christmas Day!  Ella said it was the best and worst Christmas ever.  The worst part is because she woke up feeling pretty sick with a sore throat and cough.  James' germs must have caught up with her.  Fortunately, she wasn't running a temp today so she was able to participate in all our festivities.  We had Christmas morning at our house and then went to the farm for Christmas Dinner, gift exchanging, sledding, playing and memory making.  Here are some pictures highlights.  We hope your day was merry and bright, too!

Santa Came!

Claranna and her Stompeez!  Santa also brought her a Dreamlight and she was thrilled.

Ella feeling crummy on Christmas. :(

Baseballs!!

Ella opening a special gift.

Watch out!  Claranna has a microphone--as if she wasn't loud enough on her own!

Cheers!

Sledding with Mommy. It was cold and the snow was powder today.  The mean old wind swept the snow away at the top fo the sledding hill.

Solo Sledding!

Christmas Eve

Merry Christmas Eve to all!  We had a wonderful family day with a big breakfast with all of the kids' favorites (which means lots of bacon!), went to a lovely church service, had a yummy dinner at our house with Mark's folks, let the kids open a present, and now I am typing away as the kids are tucked in, hopefully drifting off to sleep and Mark is attempting to learn Christmas songs on his guitar.  He really is improving and I predict a big sing-a-long at the farm tomorrow!  Ella sang a solo and participated as a youth worship leader today at church and we are so proud of her.  Unfortunately, she seems to have caught James' germs, minus the fever, and has had a scratchy throat all day.  She still did her best today and was so excited to be part of the service.  We really had a fun and memorable day.  Wishing you all a warm, healthy Merry Christmas filled with JOY and HOPE and LOVE!

Sweet Dreams!

Isn't she adorable and peaceful looking when she is "asleep"?  She was just pretending!

Really Excited for Santa!! I think you can almost see where James tonsils used to be!

Here is the prayer Ella read tonight at church:

Dear God, we are your children, and you come to us this night in your Son, Jesus, as our new-born baby brother. Yet, when he grows up, he will also be our friend, our King, and our Savior. Thank you for sending Jesus to us. Dear God, bless all on this special night: our mommies and daddies, our grandpas and grandmas, our aunts and uncles, our cousins and friends, and everyone in the whole world--especially those who are hungry, alone and hurting. Thank you, Dear God for hearing the prayers of all your children.  Amen

Merry Christmas Part 1

We celebrated with Mark's family today and we all had a great time.  Now the house is quiet and it is officially Christmas Eve and I need to get some sleep.  I am really looking forward to our Christmas Eve day tomorrow.  I am hoping that all the kids wake up healthy.  James has really had a tough week and I am praying he doesn't share his germs over the next many days with the rest of our family.  Ella is excited to sing a solo tomorrow at one of the Christmas Eve services at our church.  We are proud that she will be involved in such a special worship service.  Merry Christmas Eve to all!

A Festive Kitty

The kids went to sleep several hours ago and Violet just strolled down from upstairs. Clearly she helped to tuck in the kids. But, which kid was she cuddling with for the past few hours? and, were they really sleeping? Violet is wearing a princess necklace which would have come from the girls' room. A red bow was added to the kitty's cute necklace. The bow was a decoration James had put in his room when he was decorating for Christmas. This mystery will have to wait until tomorrow to be solved... My kids just make me smile!!

Busy Weekend

Claranna is in love with her new puppy.  It does bark, but it isn't real!  : )

Our Angel Center Stage

Ella invited her friend Ilsa to join her in the Christmas Program.  These two always have a great time together!

James and Claranna were choir members and both did a great job singing!!
We had a crazy but wonderful weekend.  James competed in his first official Lego League competition with Mark as coach, we celebrated Christmas with some of my extended family, had a birthday party for an uncle and a niece and watched our three kids plus two nephews in the Christmas program at our church.  Like I said, it was CRAZY...but a GOOD crazy!  Above you will see a few photo highlights.

Santa 2012

We took our annual trip to see Santa this year.  No one was shy about talking with the big guy.  James was a little bummed as we were walking away because he realized that he didn't ask Santa for a drum set.  I don't think I am quite as bummed about that one as he is.  Claranna was very happy to learn that she is still on the nice list.

One of James' Creations

James built this race car from a birthday kit from Grandma and Grandpa O.   It looks pretty cool in the dark!
