Home

For those of you following along, we are happy to announce that we have made it home with our loopy little boy. The surgery went fine. He was away from us for about an hour and a half and then we were able to join him in recovery. He was pretty upset when he was first waking up and tried very hard to pull out his I.V. They tried to make him sleepy with more meds in the recovery room, but that didn't work. Soon though, they got him off of the cart and onto my lap and he eventually calmed down. He continued to cry and pull at his I.V., so the nurse told him he could have it out if he drank something. He downed some apple juice in record time and once the I.V. was removed, he was much happier. It also helped that they turned the Cars movie on for him. We might even let him watch it again later in the day... Lucky boy!

James is still pretty drugged up and wobbly on his feet so he is attempting to rest right now. Hopefully he will crash soon. We've had to follow him around the house so that he won't tip over. He seems to be a little more wild and goofy than we remember Ella being when we brought her home from her outpatient surgery. He's acting kind of drunk and it's a little bit entertaining.

James' plumbing is working properly, so the surgery was a success. He is still quite numb. Hopefully, he won't have too much pain once all the big drugs wear off and he'll tolerate the post-op care without too much of a struggle. He'll have a few other restrictions for the next two weeks, like no bike riding, but after that all should be good and hopefully he won't remember too much about this. Thanks for all the care and concern for him!
